OBS Fuse Bridge

OBS Fuse Bridge Documentation

OBS Fuse Bridge is a human-operated Windows x64 live-production integration that routes selected Zoom participant video into OBS Studio through the Zoom Meeting SDK.

1. Requirements

2. Authorizing a Zoom identity

  1. Open OBS Fuse Bridge Connect.
  2. Select OBF or ZAK.
  3. Click Add / Reauthorize.
  4. Complete Zoom authorization in the browser.
  5. Return to OBS. The authorized user's Zoom display name appears in the Zoom identity selector.

The app stores OAuth access/refresh tokens and Zoom Identity metadata locally using Windows DPAPI. It does not retain the authorized user's email address or raw Zoom user ID.

3. Zoom Identity selector

For OBF and ZAK, the operator may choose a specific already-authorized Zoom display name or leave the selector on Auto — Smart Connect.

4. OBF mode

Use OBF for an external meeting when an OBS Fuse Bridge-authorized Zoom user is already present in the meeting. The meeting host does not need to be the same authorized user. If a manually selected identity is not present, Zoom may reject the OBF association and Fuse Bridge stops rather than silently switching to a different manually selected account.

5. ZAK mode

ZAK joins the Meeting SDK session as the selected authorized Zoom user. The ZAK Safe Disconnect guard prevents a normal operator Disconnect while the SDK participant is still the meeting Host; transfer Host first when the meeting must continue.

6. JWT mode

JWT uses the protected Meeting SDK authentication route intended for the app owner's same-account controller workflow. It does not use the stored OAuth identity selector.

7. Joining a meeting

  1. Select JWT, OBF, or ZAK.
  2. For OBF/ZAK, select a Zoom identity or Auto.
  3. Enter or paste the Meeting ID and passcode.
  4. Optionally paste full Zoom invitation details using Paste Meeting Details.
  5. Select Connect.
  6. Respond to any Zoom meeting-content permission prompt presented to the host/operator.

8. Live production

After Zoom grants the required meeting-content access, OBS Fuse Bridge can expose the Program feed, Switchboard, and pinned Locale controls. Raw participant video is processed locally in memory and is not intentionally written to frame/video files by OBS Fuse Bridge.

9. Disconnecting

Select Disconnect in the Control Center. OBF and JWT leave normally. In ZAK mode, if the SDK participant is Host, transfer Host to another participant first and then disconnect.

10. Removing authorization

A user can revoke OBS Fuse Bridge from Zoom's app/account management controls. The operator can also remove local application data during uninstall/cleanup. Revoked authorizations cannot be used for future OBF/ZAK connections until authorized again.

11. Privacy and support
